Abraham Lincoln was a racist
I'm sick and tired of hearing people talking about Abraham Lincoln, saying he freed the slaves and that he loved black people. He was a hateful person, just like the rest of the people living in those times. A quote from the man himself:" I have no purpose of introducing political and social equality between the white and black races... That I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negros, nor qualifying them to hold office nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this, that there is a physical difference between the two which, in my judgment will probably forever forbid there living together upon the footing of perfect inequality, and in as much as it bocomes a necessity that there must be a difference, I am in favor of the race to which I belong having the superior position."
Have another:
"If I could save the union without freeing any slave, I would."
Even if he signed the emancipation proclamation, he did it to save his union, not because he cared for black people.
You still wonder why we don't like lincoln?
Fuck him.

Hell fucking yeah. Racist motherfucker.
Glad someone else brought this up, it pisses me off when we gloss over history and make it look like these people actually gave a shit.

Interesting. I was never taught any of that in school but now you've peaked my interest and I'm going to go do some research. If this is true I think I'm going to have to do some blogging about it. Of course, you don't really expect the government to tell us the truth do you?

I hope the OP won't mind but I took the liberty of modifying the title to include "was a racist". It will attract more attention and should do better on the search engines.

You've taken the quotes completely out of context but nice try.

there is no contextual excuse for quotes like this. he was speaking his mind. no matter the context, these are racist, white supremicist ideas.

Any race, if given the choice, would choose to have their race be the dominant race. And all you brothers out there would be lying if you told me you wouldn't rather be the dominant race. I know very few black people that aren't racists themselves. Let's see a white man walk through a black neighborhood and watch all the brothers treat him as an equal. Blacks are hypocrites with all this racists bullshit.

After reading up, even though equality was not in Abraham's favor, he conceded in part because he viewed equality as completely necessary just as the forefathers proclaimed. Keep in mind that his openess to the change was much more than the people of the time were ready to accept. His decision was a pivotal transition from doing what you favor to what you know is right with regard to equality. He took a chance and slowly people began to accept and even appreciate equality. Ask yourself how likely it is for today's politicians to do what is right over what they favor.

The point of the post is to expose Abe for what he was. A bigot. I don't care about modern day politicians. All I'm saying is that this guy is portrayed like the savior of the world in all elementary school history books and everyone believes that crap. The people of his time, granted, were probably much worse than he was. That doesn't make him a friend to the black man. He got black people on the side of the republican party and saved his union. That's the only reason why he signed the shit. We need to write history with both sides of the story.

absolutely right about no more doctoring history. i wonder if he had to say some things to maintain enough support, again kinda like today's politicians. in any event, whether it were in his favor or not, at least what he had done has directly helped to get to where we are now equality-wise. surely he's no icon, but he played a role that changed history for the better.

Interesting post.
"His decision was a pivotal transition from doing what you favor to what you know is right with regard to equality."
Good point.
